Garnier Olia Hair Color Review
Hello All!!! Last month I got the chance to receive a free Garnier Olia Hair Color and review it. This opportunity was provided by buzzagent.com
I received my coupon and a pamphlet letting me know what to expect and all the different ways this color was better than any other.
So off to the store...This was a task in its self! I had to search all over the place for this item. As soon as I was about to give up I found it at a local Walgreens. I chose the color 9.3 Light Golden Blonde. I was already a dark blonde and wanted to go a little lighter.
Now this hair color is "The unique oil-based formula maximizes the coloring process to achieve lasting, permanent color results." and "Olia visibly improves and restores hair" Alrighty so I'm ready to color.
Sorry no pics of the process I deleted them by accident....opps. The process was different. #1 the smell was awesome no ammonia smell at all. The mixture didn't run because it is oil based. The applicator bottle was cool looking but a pain in the but once the mixture was on your hands, It kept slipping out of my hands. It was strange but nice not having my hair piled on top of my head and stinking up the house. There was no stinging or itching of the scalp. I was getting excited.
It says to only leave color on for 20 min. I checked my hair and it looked dark brown...hmm ok not lifting like I like. I waited 10 more min and rinsed. Still looks brown...so I decide not to look at it and to let it dry and flat iron it. Here is what I ended up with:
Ok not to bad. But I didn't get the look I was looking and I still had grey. You can see it at my hair line. Ok so this may be operator error. Then I noticed day after day the color was fading and greys were popping up everywhere. Needless to say I have never had a hair color do this even the cheap ones stayed in longer than this.
FINAL VERDICT:
I went back to my normal hair color and dyed it darker seeing how the Garnier Olia kinda left my hair with a very dull color. I wouldn't recommend this brand. There are others out there that are better!
