Global Green USA Green School Makeover Competition Presented by Pureology

Global Green USA Green School Makeover Competition Presented by Pureology

Finally a contest to help the schools!

WHY GREEN SCHOOLS?

When a school goes green, children benefit—as well as the environment! Green schools lead to:
Improved student performance. When children learn in classrooms with natural daylight, improved sound quality and non-toxic building materials such as non-VOC carpets and paints, test scores can improve as much as 20%. Attendance also improves!
More funds for student resources. When green upgrades are made to a school, water and energy costs can be reduced by as much as 40%. These savings can be channeled back into resources that directly benefit students, such as textbooks, computers and other essentials.
Reduced carbon footprint. Greening a school significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions that cause global warming.

GREENER SCHOOLS = A BRIGHTER FUTURE

Every child deserves a learning environment that’s safe, comfortable and free of harmful toxins. Unfortunately, many schools across the country lack the funds to carry out much-needed repairs and renovations—subjecting children to outdated facilities with improper ventilation, poor lighting and inefficient energy usage. Global Green USA is working to address this situation and ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn in a healthy, green school.
You can help by nominating a school in your area for a Green School Makeover—read on to learn more, and find out how you can green your school!

Go Enter Your local school and show Mother Nature some love while teaching the future adults!

Garnier Olia Hair Color

Garnier Olia Hair Color Review

Hello All!!! Last month I got the chance to receive a free Garnier Olia Hair Color and review it. This opportunity was provided by buzzagent.com

I received my coupon and a pamphlet letting me know what to expect and all the different ways this color was better than any other.

So off to the store...This was a task in its self! I had to search all over the place for this item. As soon as I was about to give up I found it at a local Walgreens. I chose the color 9.3 Light Golden Blonde. I was already a dark blonde and wanted to go a little lighter.

Now this hair color is "The unique oil-based formula maximizes the coloring process to achieve lasting, permanent color results." and "Olia visibly improves and restores hair" Alrighty so I'm ready to color.

Sorry no pics of the process I deleted them by accident....opps. The process was different. #1 the smell was awesome no ammonia smell at all. The mixture didn't run because it is oil based. The applicator bottle was cool looking but a pain in the but once the mixture was on your hands, It kept slipping out of my hands. It was strange but nice not having my hair piled on top of my head and stinking up the house. There was no stinging or itching of the scalp. I was getting excited.

It says to only leave color on for 20 min. I checked my hair and it looked dark brown...hmm ok not lifting like I like. I waited 10 more min and rinsed. Still looks brown...so I decide not to look at it and to let it dry and flat iron it. Here is what I ended up with:

Ok not to bad. But I didn't get the look I was looking and  I still had grey. You can see it at my hair line. Ok so this may be operator error. Then I noticed day after day the color was fading and greys were popping up everywhere. Needless to say I have never had a hair color do this even the cheap ones stayed in longer than this.

FINAL VERDICT:
I went back to my normal hair color and dyed it darker seeing how the Garnier Olia kinda left my hair with a very dull color. I wouldn't recommend this brand. There are others out there that are better!

BzzAgent Review: Glade Expressions

I love being a BzzAgent and sharing with my readers, family and friends so many great products. As a BzzAgent I am often able to test new products before they are seen on the shelves at the stores.

Last week I received a booklet with 1 Free Glade Expressions Fragrance Mist Starter Kit, 1 free Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser, 10 $4.00 off any Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser starter kit, and 10 $2.00 off any Glade Expressions Fragrance Mist starter kit. The 2 free coupons was for me to get my items to review. The coupons are for me to pass out to family, friends, and strangers. I have done all 3! And they all were happy happy!

Today we are reviewing Glade Expressions!

The scents to choose from are:
  • Cotton & Italian Mandarin: Open your home with the bright, breezy blend of cotton and sparkling citrus, honeydew and sandalwood.
  • Fuji Apple & Cardamom Spice: A ripe, spicy blend of sweet pears and crisp apple with a dash of cinnamon and clove that warms and invigorates.
  • Lavender & Juniper Berry: Lush lavender blends with fresh juniper berry, eucalyptus and rose to relax the senses and open your home.
  • Pineapple & Mangosteen: Evoke a tropical paradise with the blend of freshly cut pineapples and hint of tangy mangosteen, creamy coconut and passionflower.
I decided to go with the scent Pineapple Mangosteen for both the mist and oil diffuser.

The fragrance mist is refillable, meaning you don't have to buy the starter kit over and over. Just throw your old bottle away and replace it with a fragrance mist refillable. You can get either a white or silver holder. I picked the white holder so it would go with any room and good thing too because it is used in every room...lol.

The oil diffuser comes in bamboo or white color. I picked out bamboo, it sits on the dresser in our bedroom. Its very easy to set up, there is no oil sitting in a small glass above a flame and there is no plugging in an outlet..those just scare me. All you do is snap in the diffuser/oil (it's all one piece) into the bamboo or white holder, and that's it! Smell away!

OK now down to the nitty gritty! I have tried all kinds of diffusers, no need in going into what I've wasted my money on over the years. This is the first diffuser I have opened, set up and feel in love. The scent is in the air right off the bat! It's not strong smelling...just right! It's been awhile and we still smell it.

My husband came in and said "Oh my smells like I should be on the beach" It's just a very relaxing scent. You just don't smell 1 scent but all the scents in the fragrance. You don't have to worry with touching the oil or sticks, and getting a strong smell on your fingers that takes a while to wear off even with washing your hands. You touch the bottle it is in to snap in place.

The fragrance mist is wonderful. 2 little sprays and your done. We have always went through other mist, not this one just a dab will do for you!

FINAL VERDICT:

GLADE had once again floored me, and I now have faith in oil diffusers. This is well worth the money and you will not be dissatisfied. I give them both a rating of A+. You just can not go wrong, long lasting scent, no electricity being used and no open flames. You will walk in the door and you will say wow that still smells good! I know it was free but I will be buying this product again. No complaints from me and I'm a hard person to please!

I want to say that I got this item for FREE. I received coupons from BzzAgent (pronounced Buzz) to get this product. I am not being paid or sponsored by BzzAgent or Glade to do this post. All opinions are my own and do not reflect BzzAgent or Glade themselves.
