I just love this eyeliner, it's not like other eyeliner pencils. NYC Showtime Glitter just glides on so smoothly, it's soft...not hard like other eyeliners. Some eyeliners I've had to warm up with heat to get it to glide on, not NYC Showtime Glitter. It's creamy like the twist eyeliners. The glitter is small so it doesn't irritate your eyes.

 

Now on the downside...after you remove it the glitter tends to linger around. It doesn't bother me but it may some people. That is the only complaint I have!

Hellooo peeps! Today I am going to write a review and post some pictures of the amazing imPress Press-on Manicure. I have a been a fan since they came out, trying all kinds of styles and solid colors. I joined Influenster.com (check previous blogs I've written on Influenster), in Oct 2012. I was so thankful when I qualified for the College VoxBox 2012 (you can see the opening of my VoxBox below in another post).

When the box came I was excited to see a pair of imPress nails inside in a style that I had been wanting but they (Walgreen's, CVS, and Walmart) were always sold out. I got the Lil Drmmer Grl nails, they are hot pink with black zebra print! AWESOME!!!

 

 

 

You get 24 nails in a pack, which is handy if a nail happens to come off. The package says they last a week, I wore mine for 8 days and only had one come off on day 6. No problem I just got me another one and reapplied. My mother in law was in awe when she seen them. She is a retired hair dresser and said they look like gel nails to her! and they do!

 

The first strep is to pick out your sizes, when I do this I lay them out in order of my nails, that way I can just apply when I'm all set.

Second, make sure all other polish is off your nail, then take the alcohol wipe that is inside your box (some people over look this) and make sure your nails are clean.

These 2 steps are very important and your manicure will last longer.

Last start with your pinkie and work your way down, do your thumbs last!! Take the tab off the bad, and apply to your nail, I hold my firmly for about 20 seconds to make sure they are stuck on.

And walla! You are done!

The first couple of times I did this it did take me about 10 min. Now I can do it under 5min. Yes it is that easy! They are not like other press on or glue on nails. You can not tell they are on your fingers, they are not too long, so no filing is needed, no messy glue or cheap stick on tabs...I dislike those so much! You can find these are any drugstore or major grocery stores, now some grocery stores do not have them, online retailers are coming soon. The prices are 5.99 for solid colors and 7.99 for prints! A good deal if you ask me. Just as cheap as buying other "fake nails"!

This is very easy and your kiddo will pick right up on it. It's not a fast paced where they throw one word out there and that's it, DinoLingo repeats the word over and over.

Yaaa, My Influenster VoxBox came!!!!

So...Saturday my Influenster VoxBox came in the mail. (for more info on Influenster.com check out my previous Influenster blog!) I joined at the end of Oct this year and received my first box this month! I hope there are many more to come!

 

This is the Influenster College VoxBox 2012! I loved everything I received....

 

 

Here is the breakdown of the box:

 

Impress Press-On Manicure: 5.99 for colors, 7.99 for patterns.

I received the D110 Lil Drumr Grl. I love these nails, I have bought ALOT of them. They are fast and easy to do. Just pick your size, remove the tag, and press! Takes less than 5 min. I haven't tried this design but have the others. These will last you about a week, yes a week! They are not like most "stick on" nails, these really do stick. I do not recommend trying to remove these the minute you put them on. I have tried that before and it was kinda painful. Not like nail glue but it still hurt. So these are made to stay once applied!

 

 

 This is the pair I received.  Here is a pair I have tried before!

 

NYC New York Color Show Time Glitter Eyeliner Pencil: 2.49 per pencil.

This is a very smooth eyeliner, not like other pencils I have tried that are "hard" to apply, It just glides on. The glitter is not harsh, and is small but gives you a nice sparkle. It didn't crease up..is that what I'm trying to say??...on me and stayed in place. It doesn't say waterproof, but I'm not one to get wet with makeup on so that doesn't bother me.

 

 Sorry it's white out and blurry but you can see the sparkle!

 

Necco Tropical Wafers 1.25 ea, 24.00 per box or 37.50 per tub

New exotic flavors Coconut, Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Lime, Banana, and Mango. My favorite was the Strawberry and Lime! These don't seem to be as chalky as they use to be and are not as thick as the ones I had when I was younger!

 

Pentel EnerGel-X Campaign 1.90 per pen

This is liquid and gel ink. The color I received was purple, and it is a smooth write. I even had my husband who is anal about pens try it and he liked it also!

 

And lastly:

Energy Sheets 5.95 per pack of 10 sheets.

You place these on your tongue and let them dissolve. I normally use the 5 hour energy if I need a quick pick me up. So these are new to me. I tried one, my husband also tried one and we didn't notice anything. Next time I will try 2. It says that 2 equal a cup of coffee. What I did like was that they didn't taste like most energy products. They tasted like a mint strip for your breath, but wasn't overwhelming. And like the others there is no calories and sugar.

 

 

Welp that was my Influenster College VoxBox. I hope I have many more to review! The only product I would not buy myself would be the Energy Sheets, I just didn't see a difference. It does say 1-3 sheets for desired energy level. But you only get 10 sheets. It also says no bloating but I haven't noticed bloating with other products. The taste is a plus, since you can't taste the vitamins.

Lazy Day...

Today is another lazy day, cold, rainy, and just plain blah's.

 

I did manage to go to Publix and do a few reviews for influentser.com. At publix I finally found the Air Wick color changing candle. Grabbing one without smelling first...umm bad mistake...When I got home and opened it, well welcome to playdoh world. It's pretty but stinks!

 

 

 

I also need to do my nails, you know it's a blah day when I wish someone else would do my nails. Maybe I will do this later. Instead of just brown I'm thinking pink and brown. Brings back memories from childhood. Loved those colors during winter.

 

Oh I have been listening to these books...funny, romantic, vampire books. Just finished A Bite to Remember, and have started listening to Single White Vampire which I can't stop laughing at. There are quite a few in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. I found these great books and others on Goodreads.com. If you love to read and/or listen to books, this is the place to go to find books.

 

Welp I guess I'll go explore Influenster.com for a while and do some more reviews and see what other free stuff I can find on the web.

Fall Nails My 5 Top Picks

In the previous blog you read about my favorite season...FALL. I love the colors of fall and couldn't wait to plan my nails. Picking the colors out took me a couple of days but I was able to narrow it down to 5. Now I'm not someone who is picky, I really don't go buy certain brands I will try them all. I don't pick my color, my color picks me.

 

Here are my picks:

 

1. Color Club #5786 Insta-This...a pretty royal blue color

 

2. Sinful Colors #1135 Pumpkin Spice..clear polish with gold and red glitter

 

3. Sally Hansen Xtreme wear #290 Crushed...it looks kinds red but it not it's more of a burnt orange with a little shimmer.

 

4. Sally Hansen Xtreme wear #260 Ivy League...a pretty light green with a little shimmer!

 

5. NYC #246 Park Ave...this brown is good for painting or detailing!

 

Each week I will post pics with that weeks color. I wore the Pumpkin Spice over Ivy League and Crushed, wore them a few days alone then added the Pumpkin Spice on my accent nail. Pics coming soon.

 

 

 

 

 

Fall Nails 2012 1st week pick

I love Fall, the pretty colors of the leaves, the air is so crisp and wispy. Most beautiful time of the year. I also love nails, which means I've been waiting a while for the season to get here.

 

Here is my Fall 1st week pick of polishes:

 

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear #260 Ivy League & Sinful Colors #1135 Pumpkin Spice

 

 

Don't forget to prep your nails and apply your base coat. I applied 3 coats of Ivy League it was a bit watery and thin. I have noticed that some Sally Hansen polishes are like this, and some are perfect. This is a very pretty green with a shimmer.

 

On my accent nail I applied 1 coat of Pumpkin Spice. I have recently discovered Sinful Colors, and I'm in love with this line. This is very pretty clear polish with red and gold glitter. Apply top coat this seals and protects the color.

 

 

I am not a professional as you can see and I don't claim to be. This is just a hobby of mine that I really enjoy and it relieves my stress! This is just for fun.

 

 

 



All I have to do is write...

Or so I'm told. So here I am at 3:50am listening to Pandora and giving this a try. I've read blogs, thought about blogging...but never wrote one. Never had the time, mother of 2 great sons (19 & 13), married to my best friend, worked full-time there just wasn't time. Now I do not work and I'm a stay at home wife & mom. My time has opened up, so why not give it a try? What could it hurt? Right!?

 

On Oct. 30 searching on YouTube I came across this video about a website called Influenster.com. The video looked very interesting and kinda fun. Went to the site and seen it was invitation only, OK now I have to request because I really want to check it out. Thinking it would be a few days, I was shocked as I opened my email and there sat an invite from Influenster, straight to the site I went.

 

 

Influenster is a social network where you pick out badges for products that best suit you. There's one for Travel, Gamers, Beauty, Sweets, Pop Culture, Cats, Dogs, Eco,  plus many many more. After you pick your badges you unlock them by taking a survey about you and the topic. Then you can review, answer/ask questions, share with other social networks and blog about the item. (There's that blog word.) There are products galore to check out, a child in a candy store, that is how I felt. Oh and this service is FREE. Believe me I looked high and low and found nothing bad about this company.

 

There is scoring on your badges, the higher the score better chances of getting a VOXBOX...yes voxvbox full of goodies. If your score is high enough you will qualify to take a survey and Influenster will look over it to see if you are a good match to the products to be reviewed. And if so then you will receive a voxbox  with full size, yep FULL SIZE, coupons, and products (hair products, make-up, soaps, lotions, candles, nutritional items, the list goes on and on) for you to try. Then you review, rate, add pictures, YouTube, blog, etc. on the products you receive.

 

This totally free, you don't even pay shipping. So Influenster has given me something to do, helped me come up with a Blog name, and add a new addiction.
